About a month ago, I went to WATSONS' sustainable holiday gifting event at the Podium to learn more on how we can shop sustainably for the holidays.
I know how hard it is to go 100% environmental-friendly, but as with anything, a little goes a long way and every step--no matter how big or small-counts when it comes to doing our part for our only home.
Here are small yet doable steps we can keep in mind as we shop for gifts for this Christmas season:

1) CHOOSE: Better Ingredients
Choose natural and cruelty-free products. Be more informed, and research on brands before spending your hard-earned money.
2) CHOOSE: BETTER PACKAGING
Choose biodegradable packaging, or products that encourage refill and recycling. I would love to visit the WATSONS Mega Mall branch where they have a new refilling station for all our daily health, wellness, and beauty needs.

3) CHOOSE: BRANDS WITH SUSTAINABILITY EFFORTS
Through this event, I also found out how WATSONS has been active in environmental-preservation projects, such as holding "Trash To Cash", "Plastic Bank", and "Turn Me Off" campaigns. What a big difference it makes when a big company leads these kinds of efforts.

4) BRING: REUSABLE BAG WHEN SHOPPING
Last but not the least, the easiest and most practical tip yet what we most often forget, is to bring reusable bags every time we go out to shop. Giving second life and reusing the bags that we get from shopping by turning them into Christmas wrappers also makes a difference compared to just throwing them out right away.
