Do you have any plans of traveling this year?
Little by little, I am so glad that we're back to traveling again. I missed the thrill of planning for a trip, looking for new places to visit, or even old places where we can create new experiences. Booking good hotel deals and low fares were my insta-happiness! It feels nice that we can do this again--browse airlines and accommodation sites till wee hours of the day, and have something to look forward to.
I started with local travels, including flying twice to Boracay for my solo travels. And recently, I also went to Cebu for a blog travel event. Before we knew it, it's already a quarter of 2022! So here's to hoping that in the succeeding months we can finally fly (or cruise!) internationally.
Here are some of the places in my 2022 travel bucket list:
1. Pohang, South Korea
I've been watching more Korean dramas during the pandemic, which lead me to the romcom series Hometown Cha Cha Cha. Its plot involves a city girl transferring to a small town called Gongjin where she was able to build her dental career, a community turned family, and even her love life.
Although the province is fictional, it was actually shot in an actual port town called Pohang in South Korea. I would like to visit the set of Hometown Cha Cha Cha, and at the same time see the beach and other cultural and historical sites of this province in North Gyeongsang. Maybe in autumn?
2. Hanoi, Vietnam
Before the pandemic, my friends and I were already booked for a trip to Hanoi. We were looking forward to the cooler climate of this northern Vietnam city during December. Although we have already cancelled our flights and plans, with travel restrictions easing up maybe its about time to accomplish our unfinished business with this French-colonial city.
3. Northern Lights in Iceland
Another dream vacation that I would really want to pursue this or next year is to see the Northern Lights in Iceland. They say that the best time to see the aurora borealis is between November and March, so it's also apt to plan a full-on winter trip.
Aside from the play of lights, I would also like to see the natural wonders of Iceland, and maybe experience trailer van accommodation or camping under the stars.

4. Mexico and the Caribbean
Another adventure that I would like to experience is the beautiful beaches of the Caribbean. It would also be nice to visit Mexico City for their colorful arts and culture, and of course try authentic and delicious Mexican food!
I haven't been to a lot of beaches outside the country, but I've seen photos of the turquoise waters in Mexico's Caribbean coast that makes me want to hop on a plane stat. I also saw vacation packages to Caribbean that I am seriously considering to explore for the convenience since they already cover the tours, transportation, and planning.

5. Paris, France
Lastly, I think it's about time to visit Paris, France! Whether alone or with friends, I wish I can stay in this beautiful city for more than a week for full immersion. On my Paris Bucket List is to dine in different local cafes and patisserie, visit as much museums and cathedrals as I can, and of course book an accommodation with a balcony view of the Eiffel tower. And maybe shop a little. ;)
