Cook-Off with O&Co.

June 13, Oliviers & Co. Central Square Mall, BHS

I am always game for something new. Like in travels where people will automatically go to theme parks, I prefer activities that will soak me more in the country's culture - like going to their traditional spa or taking a class. Events are great, but the best ones are those when I go home with a new knowledge, inspiration (naks), or skill.

Last Saturday, O&Co (or Oliviers & Co) introduced me to new recipes.

It might look like a kitchen or a beauty shop (according to Ava, hehe), but O&Co actually houses France's premiere range of olive oil, seasonings, and condiments. Under the umbrella of Philippines' leading luxury retailer Stores Specialist Inc. (SSI), the store offers premiere experience of sampling, first-hand, the golden standard of olive oil in the world of gourmet.

It is true! With the right basic ingredients, turning mundane dishes into masterpiece is easy!

We sampled different O&Co olive oils, infused oils, patés, and condiments. The brand has 300 partner mills in France, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Greece, and Portugal, and under the artisanal approaches of olive oil connoisseur Albert Baussan.

Every bottle is limited, with lots of healthful benefits, and of course guaranteed superior.

They had me at TRUFFLE. All kinds of truffle infuse oil and patés:

These are cans of olive oils you can use for cooking. I love the packaging!

More patés that you can try in the store:

The also carry cooking tools and some kitchen essentials:

So here's the beauty of the O&Co store: You can actually join their culinary activities!

Since it was Independence Day weekend, they gave us local recipes including Grilled Liempo, 3-Way Turon, and my toka: the Pinoy Beef Steak... vegetarian version!

Marinated the strips of tofu in soy sauce, lemon, and O&Co's Olive & Lemon Specialty for more flavor. Added brown sugar to taste.

We also cooked and fried with O&Co Everyday Olive Oil:

My partner blogger-cook for the day, Ava! She worked on the Liempo recipe.

We were guided by O&Co's Kashmir Ong and the MadhouseMNL team to make sure our creations are superb!

Thank you guys!

True enough, I enjoyed my tofu version of Pinoy Beef Steak! I'll even attempt to recreate this at home and bought the ingredients na yesterday, haha!

Proud chefs for a day! Hehe! Favorite part, of course, when we tried them na! They are all so good, my tofu steak was a hit! Haha! We even bought rice in the nearby supermart, dahil iba parin talaga ang may kanin! Hehe. We also made turon (cooked with O&Co Everyday Oil) for dessert. I love the ones with O&CO Chocolate Hazelnut Spread! :p

Thank you O&Co for this cool event! Join their next cook-off and experience Oliviers&Co's superior taste, luxurious flavor profiles, and vibrant versatility in the kitchen - and you'll never taste other olive oils the same way again!
