Japan In Manila: Mitsuyado Sei-Men

June 13, Mitsuyado Sei-Men

To borrow my friend Ashley's blog segment, I think I found my own "Japan in Manila"

Yesterday's schedule was packed! I was already hilahod after my 2 pick-ups AND 2 events, but still managed to fulfill my bridesmaid duties and helped out with my friend Geo's wedding souvenirs. Our little art attack at her fiance's office ended at around 9pm, so we decided to reward ourselves with a late but good dinner. From LRI, we checked out the usually busy Jupiter St., but we noticed the lane looked lonely on a Saturday night. For a Saturday night!

We drove by mostly closed establishments, looking for something new and unique, when we chanced upon this rustic Japanese place:

Mitsuyado Sei-Men.

Just like in Japan, animal statues are situated near the entrance (as the restaurant's protectors?:)).

I like everything about Mitsuyado Sei-Men, the place reminded me so much of Japan!

This spot resembles the walls in Gion, Kyoto, where we spotted a real Geisha!

What we had:

Tried the different bottled drinks just for the heck: Coco Royal's Basil Seed with Honey, Coco Water with Aloe Vera, and Pure Coconut Water. Everything's interesting and tasty!

Geo ordered the basic Shoyu Ramen (P290). You can choose to have it with thick or thin noodles, plus serving size is HUGE! Geo said that the soup is a bit salty.

My Vegetable Curry (P250)! This comes with a miso soup. The curry sauce is great with nice consistency, good variety of vegetables (broccoli, okra, eggplant, carrots, etc), and everything's perfect down to the sticky Japanese rice!

Sayang I have no photo of Fred's Katsudon (P290), super good daw and serving size is great and super filling!

You can check out Mitsuyado Sei-Men's full menu HERE.

Group photo with the future Mr. and Mrs. Yang! :)

Other than the satisfying food and service, every corner of Mitsuyado Sei-Men brought me back to Japan! It's also nice that I had my own "Fred-Geo time" before their big day. We've traveled a lot before, had little side projects together (bazaars, etc), I guess this is the very first wedding that I'll attend na I am actually friends with both the bride and the groom! I styled their pre-nup, was involved in Geo's bridal shower, went with her on her wedding shoes shopping, and now worked with her wedding souvenirs a few days before the wedding date!

I am so involved because I love this couple, and masasabi ko talagang "I am so excited for this wedding!". Countdown to "May Forever", Geo! :)
