WARNING: For girls only!!!
There are certain things that we can't openly talk about, even to our parents, and one of them is our feminine concerns. Often times we go to our girl friends for these private conversations, but for a sensitive topic, expert consultation is still a must.
Last week, I was fortunate to be part of an intimate all-girls event in Posh Nails McKinley Hill to discuss about the new naFlora Feminine Wash, plus learn more about the healthy rules for a hygienic feminine area. It was like a fun girl bonding, especially because I was also with my blogger girl friends.
Event's host Ina Ongsiaco:
We had games and then a mani-pedi session:
And then a talk with OB Gyne Dr. Lourdes Escobar of Perpetual Succor Hospital:
The PH value of a women's vaginal area varies in the different phases of our lives. To protect our sensitive area, here are certain rules from Dr. Escobar.
1) Choose your clothing carefully - It is hygienic to keep your feminine area clean and dry. Wear cotton underwear instead of thongs. Do not prolong the wearing of a pantyliner (change it after 3 to 4 hours). Try not to wear tight-fitting clothes all the time (leather pants, spandex). And for those who have a fitness life, change swimsuit and sweaty workout clothes as soon as possible. This is to avoid GERMS from accumulating in your sensitive areas.
2) Eat healthy foods - A balanced and nutritious diet keeps your feminine area healthy - and this includes drinking lots and lots of water. Cranberry juice and yogurt may help prevent yeast infections.
3) Treat infections when they arise - If left untreated, this can lead to unpleasant, painful, and serious reproductive health problems.
4) See your gynecologist regularly - Every woman should have their first gynecological exam by age 21 or within 3 years of becoming sexually active.
and last but not the least, 5) Protect your pH balance - wash regularly but do not douche, and avoid using harsh soaps or cleansers.
Ladies, we all know that we are unique and have different specific needs, and it's the same with our feminine hygiene concerns. Pre-teens have different concerns from women at menopausal stage, that's why we can't use the same formula of feminine wash. naFlora is the only brand that created 3 different feminine wash for different age groups - even for women of menopause as endorsed by Ms. Boots Anson Roa.
naFlora is hypoallergenic and provides the right pH level for every age. I use the PROTECT variant for everyday use. It is unscented and gentle to use.
Here are the 3 different NaFlora Feminine Wash Variants:
naFlora protect – for monthly periods and everyday use. Formulated to help maintain and protect the natural flora. It has lactic acid and tea tree extract that prevent vaginal irritations and infections. It has a pH level of 3.5 to 4.5.
naFlora restore – for post partum care & as an adjunct therapy to vaginal infection . Specially formulated to help bring back a natural acidic environment and help relieve irritation usually experienced during vaginal infections.
naFlora moisture – the only feminine wash specially formulated for mature women. It has lactic acid, chamomile extract and additional moisturizers that help soothe and protect the feminine area against dryness and irritation. It has a pH level of 6.o to 7.5
When we are more aware of our feminine hygiene and needs, I am pretty sure we can all answer NO to this question:
naFlora Feminine Wash is available in Mercury Drugstores nationwide.
