Still trying to catch-up on 2 more backlog kwentos, and unlike BU-- this one happened moooonths ago already, like October months months ago. :p Haha, double shame, I know! :p
I have to say 2013 was a year of staycations (sana talunin pa ni 2014, I love hotels!), sobrang swerte ko to be part of the "Red Bloggers" for Manila Hotel, to cover one of their Dancing at the Maynila party. It was a fun night, but ang nagpa-add to this memory was the overnight in our country's premium and oldest 5-star hotel, with lots of story to tell.
Hindi ko alam kung ano ang nilipad ko just to get to the hotel, haha! Ever since the changes in bus routes with the new Manila City admins, medyo nahirapan na ako sa Taft Avenue cabs and commute! So I went down Kalaw Avenue, and walked. Mahabang lakarin sya, and it suddenly rained pa, so si self-pity nanaman ang ganap ko while I tried to navigate the streets going to the hotel.
Anyway, saw several landmarks and historic sites like Rizal Park, so all is well. :p
I am in love with Manila hotel's grand lobby, with the fancy chandeliers, wood accents, white columns, and ang laki-laki pa niya! I waited for the bloggers and organizer Kuya Jeman for the check-in.
I even love the rooms! Gustong gusto ko yung old-glam appeal nya with the capiz accents, wooden beds and even the TV cabinet.
Ahhhh...Ang daming pillow naman nito! :D I guess ganito para more more options for their guests! VIP treatment! :)
View from the room's balcony... Beautiful Manila:
Where I worked while waiting for 7pm for the Dancing at the Maynila event:
Complimentary water and coffee, na inubos ko, lol:
I also LOVE the restroom:
Acca Kappa toiletries na gusto ko na uwiin! ;p Amazing.
A separate shower cubicle:
Phone and remote...
...For the TV sa bathtub! :D Akk! Sold nako nyan! ;p
Manila Hotel also welcomed their Red Bloggers with a nice loot of chocolates and cute bear stuffed toys:
Nung mag 7pm na, I transformed from this caped girl (haha ang lamig kasi nun!)...
...To this! Ready for the dance floor, char! ;p Whatsup naman sa ang laking selfie ko nito noh, hahaha! I was checking with Sarah via iMessage if bagay ba yung necklace ko with the look, hehehe:
Read about the Dancing at the Maynila! :) Meanwhile, after-party means room service!!! Haha! Grabe, I love hotel food lalo na pag room service!
Like a baws. Best fries ever, naaalala ko pa sha! ;p
The next day, good morning Manila Hotel!
Rainy parin:
Woke up for THIS! Free buffet breakfast at Manila Hotel's Cafe Ilang-Ilang!
My partner-in-crime! Bff Paul (the PR Guy, lol)! Swear, mas marami pa ata ako nakain sa kanya nun, haha! ;p Grabe seeing this plate now, may nori strips sila sa buffet! Akk, craving. :p
But that's not all! Haha!
They also have lots of cheeeseee...
Congeee (yum! yum!)....
Cured fruits (love the lychee and prunes. :p)
Nalimutan ko na ano to but looks like oatmeal with dried fruits and almonds, and look so delish! :p
Donuts and muffinsss...
Meat...
Cereals section with generous options!!!
Filipino corner with salted eggs, kesong puti, etcetera..
My favorite section, salad section:
Pasta na artsy!
Bidang bidang bff by the pugon, hahaha buti di ka napagalitan jan ni chef!
Juices:
After the super sarap na kainan na muntik na mawala ni bff camera nya kakaiwan sa table habang umiikot sa buffet (lol), we went out to check "ootd areas" (haha, nakakamiss ang ganito!) like the gardens and this poolside. But then we chanced upon an open gate sa likod ng Manila Hotel... leading to a really cool "secret spot" for tambay and photo ops! :)
@teaminstaxph represent! Hah!
Check my outfit post nito HERE. :) If you're also an old soul and love the old-glam appeal, Manila Hotel is for you. Plus, you'll definitely love the food! Ahhh, simply no place like Manila nga naman! ;p
