New York Minute!

Ang New York Minute pala of the Olsen Twins (my favorite) was a movie on their 24 hour series of misadventures in NYC--thus the blog title!

Second full day in New York was dedicated to our city tour. Ang plan namin ng sisters ko (aka The 3Go! ;p) was go go go na on our own, Amazing Race style, to visit the highlights of the city! Subway was our best friend, lol:

Expected na na malamig talaga everyday. Mahina ang 30 degrees... So bundle up ang peg! I love my terno olive (my current color obsession) Old Navy coat and thermal:

First stop was with the whole family pa, to see the Statue of Liberty! Parang hindi pwedeng di makita to pag nag New York! Though the 3Go stayed there lang talaga for the family photo, di na kami tumuloy sa ferry so we can start na with our "Amazing Race". Later on nalaman ko nalang that the parentals + our relatives waited for 5 hours, freezing in line, just to get closeup shots with the Liberty. Ang tindi!

So with my Ate and Cea, we headed to Times Square na to claim our sobrang worth it New York Pass in Planet Hollywood, which we paid already via online. With this 1-Day pass (worth around 3,740 in pesos), marami na kaming free access around the city, plus macucut na lines para naman hindi waste of time. Diskarte nalang namin which of the many sites and tours ang bet namin puntahan for the day.

For more more energy, we tried these giant pretzels being sold sa streets for $4 (or Php176 each)...Matigas and maalat sha, not worth it ...or baka mali lang nabilhan naming stall! ;p

First stop: Radio City

Radio City, an entertainment venue, is a historic New York music hall located in Rockefeller where several epic concerts, musicals, awards, and sports events happened na. Super love this tour! Enjoy ako imagine-in sinong artistas nag step na in this same building:

Our cutie tour guide, na super passionate about the Radio City!

The Grand Foyer, na designed daw to look like elegant ships! Love the old glam look, kahit sila Audrey Hepburn nakatapak na dito:

Backstage pass... We accessed several halls and corners of the Radio City.

The cool auditorium, ganda daw ng view anywhere ka pa maupo jan, and of course the sounds!

VIP Room (or the Roxy Suite) where celebs stayed:

For a show, may dinala silang elephant daw na nag climb sa stairs nato! ;p

Preserved seats from their auditorium during the 1930s, where we stayed for mga 15 minutes to watch a documentary:

We also met a member of The Rockettes--na precision dance group popular sa synchronized taas-legs dance moves nila:

Second stop was in MOMA, or the Museum of Modern Art. Ang daming tao nun! But I really wanted to go in nun nalaman kong art works from Kusama, Van Gogh, and Frida Kahlo were on display there!

Ang cool the kakaibang art works like this one projected sa "wall" na people have to pass through:

Pop Art! Andy Warhol overload, selfie with the Marilyn Diptych!

Ang gandang pang photobooth background nito a! ;p Campbell's Soup also by Warhol:

One of my favorite artist, Frida Kahlo's self portrait. Akk, ka-starstruck ang painting!

Nung may nakita akong kagulong corner, I knew popular art na ang nakadisplay dun!

True enough, it was Van Gogh's Starry Night! Ang piiiinakaaaa favorite painting ko since high school! Sya lang talaga ang pinipilahan ang painting for photo op, and bantay sarado ng museum guard!

Nakakaiyak! :p Epic moment to for me, ang hirap lang mag stay and stare sa painting coz other people wanted to take their photos din with it. < 3

After around an hour in MOMA, we went out to try the recommended Halal street foods for lunch! Punung-puno itong original, as in kilometro ang pila. :p Got the falafel over rice, ang daaami ng single serving, and ang sarap!

Meanwhile! May tric pala sa New York! ;p $3/ minute! ;p

Dessert--yummy mint M&Ms! :p

We rode a subway to check out the Central Park, but while walking, super nangatog kami sa LAMIG so we went in the nearest building which turned out to be part of the pass so we got in for free. It was the American Museum of Natural History. Not my thing, but enjoy ang mga sisters so picture-picture narin ako while nag dedefrost. Hehe!

Finally, sunset na when we reached the classic Central Park--the host of one million cheesy Hollywood movies! ;p Kilig just to be in the setting of most of my favorite romantic flicks and series! Sigh!

Ted and Robin's Central Park scene < 3

We also went to the MET Museum, which is near Central Park lang, but sadly closed na sha when we got there kahit 5pm palang. :p But then, labas palang nya, must-go-to place nadin naman:

Hello tambayan of Gossip Girls! ;p

We also went to the 9/11 Memorial, but sadly it was under renovation. We went inside the souvenir shop with interesting sentimental items for sale before heading back to the subway:

I've been to Madame Tussaud's na in Hong Kong few years ago, so I was hesitant if dapat pa namin puntahan ito. Buti nalang we did! Kwela lang, and sobrang iba sya from the HK version! Had fun selfie-ing with "artistas" with the 3Go!

Flirting with wax Bieber, na di na naupdate! ;p

Di kami makapili kung kanino papaampon--Jolie-Pitt?

Or the Royal family? ;p

Pop stars:

I think that you should let it burn! ;p

Benta fez ni Cea dito, hehehe:

High with Bob Marley! ;p

Pagandahan ng kili-kili:

New Yoooork! Concrete jungle where dreams are made of!

Di ako makapili kina Papi Johnny Depp and Papi Leo!!! :D

Scary parang tunay si Princess Diana!

That face! Salma Hayek < 3

Sikat na sikat sha ngayon sa Pinas: Anderson Cooper!

Close si Cea kay Kardashian, hehe:

Benta souvenir shop and Cea's pose at the end of the wax museum!

We had the best sloppy cheese pizza for dinner, kahit parang parating galit yung mga waiter! ;p

Then we headed to our 2nd to the last agenda fort he night: Top of the Rock! Located in the GE Building, di sya highest in New York, pero ANG GANDA ng view nya of the whole city!

The City that NEVER Sleeps nga!

Empire State Building! Iniimagine namin ni Cea nung nag Red-Blue-White-Yellow yung lights nya for Philippines, during Yolanda. Goosebumps siguro nun!

Area for the ball drop! Ready na sila for the next day's NYE:

Ended our tour ng almost 12am na! :) Buzzer beater, and just in time to visit the Empire State Building. We checked out the New York Skyride (a virtual overview of the city's highlights!) and viewed the beautiful New York from its highest:

If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere.
It's up to you, New York! New York!
