New Tambayan: TIAGO Restaurant
The Clingies blog barkada discovered another tambayan in the faraway north area,
thanks to Pax's recommendation. Guys, welcome to Tiago.
Agree!
Tiago’s idea is simple: give diners the total Filipino food experience. And it helps that the restaurant has a rustic, cozy interior with skylight and pocket garden, and even a nook for more intimate dining--perfect for a nightcap with friends after a loooong day!
Comfort Filipino Food. What sets Tiago apart from other Filipino-themed restaurants is the twist and preparation to their mouth-watering food. The dishes are all concocted using progressive cooking techniques, and sauces and side dishes or salads always accompany the main fare. The menu is a showcase not only of flavorful Filipino food, but also of how Filipinos eat.
Sorry vegetarian in the house! Haha, for Tiago food review, check out Sarah's post! :)
The restaurant is owned by David John Buendia, Sigrid
Aragona-Buendia, and multi-awarded chef, Kenneth Villaluz. Tiago, btw, was named
after the Buendias’ firtborn son, Santiago. (Sweet :)) This framed photo of baby Tiago can be found in their shelves, displayed along with other things with meaning to the owners, like this typewriter. Cool noh? :)
Before the night ended, we surprised Paul with a "victory party"! Proud of our boy for being part of the Virtual Style Awards! :)
Pandora-Instaxed the night! :) Aside from the victory party, reunion narin sha with the other Clingies na nabusy na from their newly employed life (hahaha, hi Arnie!!!) :) It was a great night: good food, super homey ambiance, and spent with the best people!
Also to my fellow southerners, no worries kahit malayo! Thanks to MRT, you can go to Tiago by riding the train till Quezon Ave Station, and then a less than P50 tric-ride nalang (sa side ng Mcdo ang sakayan). Tiago is a great new place to try with your family and barkada. ;) See you there!
