Must-Try Restaurant: NAMNAM Comfort Filipino
Malinamnam (adj) - Masarap, delicious, tasty
Most of my friends, lalo from high school, mga taga Makati talaga. Kaya kung may choice ako, lilipat talaga ako sa Makats para everyday ang hangout (Hehehe). Whenever we get-together, sure ball sa Glorietta or Greenbelt na yan! Kaya other than new "cool spots" in Alabang, naeexcite ako whenever may new store, restaurant or cafe na nag oopen dito--like the new NAMNAM: Comfort Filipino, na nasa Greenbelt 2 lang--hilera ng Italianis, Bizu, Mary Grace, etc.
Went there with my girls a few days ago: The early birds (in short, lahat kami except si Sarah! Haha!)
Here are my 5 reasons why I will go back in NAMNAM ng paulit-ulit!
1) Best in Ambiance
I love the playful outdoors look of NAMNAM. Ang hip ng red-blue-black high chairs, and very head-turner ng resto-front nila...parang entrance sa isang bar in New York! :D
Spacious interiors, I love the couch area!
2) Wide Array of Drinks
Aside from the usual soft drinks, iced tea, and fruit shakes, panalo yung original blends nila that includes the following pagka-unique lang fruit shakes: Camias-Lemongrass, Strawberry-Camias, and Papaya-Pepper, to name a few. They also offer daily unli-booze selections! Bet na bet ng barkada yan!
I tried the Mango-Ginger! Refreshing drink na may tangy taste. Not your usual, pero bongga to para sating mga singers (char!).
But kahit soda nila like this root beer, ang ganda! Hehe.
3) Classic Filipino Comfort Food
Dahil may days lang talaga na KANIN lang at masauce / masabaw na ulam ang hinahanap-hanap mong kainin!
...tulad ng classic Gising-Gising! :p
..And this Overloaded Bangus Belly!
4) Filipino Foods...With a Twist!
If you want naman something different, NAMNAM is the go-to place dahil sa kanilang TWISTS menu!
Tulad ng appetizer na ENSALADANG NAMNAM--a very unique but still veryvery Filipino dish na Mangga't Bagoong--made special with pomelo, tinapa flakes, native tomatoes, and red onions!
Tracy loves this ulam: Caramelized Patis Wings:
A pansit with noodles made of...strips of coconut meat! AKA Pancit Buko:
Another yummy treat: University Fried Rice (topped with fried egg! :)). Weakness ko talaga ang flavored rice!
Sinigang na Short Ribs .... And Watermelon! Super malasa, and hindi awkward kahit may prutas sa sabaw--made it taste sooo good pa lalo!
For dessert, we had these leche flan with gata and lime--very creamy! Ayan ang gusto natin sa leche flan diba! :)
5) Different Serving Sizes
For me, eto siguro ang panalo sa NAMNAM. Aside from the reinvented Pinoy dishes, they also offer different serving sizes for their foods! Para kung solo flight ka man, date night, or barkada dinner ang ganap--may option ka to order in SMALL (good for 1), MEDIUM (good for 3), or LARGE (good for 6)--para mas tipid and sulit!
Had a great time with the gang, thank you NAMNAM!
Thanks beb Ava for the invite and for this group photo!
