Top Essentials for the Fashionista Commuters!

OMG. Tumaas na ba talaga ang pamasahe?


Few days ago, Ana and I rode a cab from Makati going to Sofitel. I know it's a protocol to check the taxi's meter, but since dalawa kami, I kind-of absentmindedly didn't notice that the meter was off till the driver (with all his best-actor skillz) slapped his forehead and told us he forgot to turn it on and told us kayo na pong bahala a. KAJIRITA JACKSON LANG!

Anyhoo...If you've known me for a while, you'll know that I'd rather commute than ride a taxi. I hate how they took advantage of the holidays (kontrata galore), or even take advantage if you look absent-minded or "rich". Kinakabahan ako every time I ride a taxi alone--for safety reasons, and just because I've experienced tumatalon-na-metro gazillion times already.

Anyway, sorry for the long segway. Haha! In line with being your hardcore commuter, the worst news I'll ever hear are on fare hikes. Heard that jeep companies want to have P.50 price increase, and taxi flag down rate wants to go from P30 to P40, and from P2.50 to P3 per succeeding kilometer. :P Lalo ko na aayawin ata mag cab, hehe. (source, my journalism classmate back in college, kris bayos woot! haha!)

Back to my blog title, here are your Fashionista Commuter's top essentials:

1) An MRT Card - or whatever prepaid transit card you always use, to avoid the long lines. I think I currently have 3 cards in my wallet, hehe adik.

2) A cute pair of sunglasses, and an umbrella or hat - to protect your eyes and skin from the sun's harmful rays.

My favorite quirky sunnies! :)


3) Extra Bag - to place your flipflops/flats, or when you go shopping!

The Over-Used: my favorite cutesy hearts umbrella I got from the Robinsons Bloggers Event, ecosack bag from bbm, and my fave black bowler hat :)

4) Handkerchief - can't leave the house without this, or I'm sure I'll get sick from inhaling too much smoke! :P

5) Cover-Up - especially when you're wearing something revealing or frivolous. Also convenient during long cold bus rides.

And of course, your Facial Sunblock. Protect your face from the sun with L'Oreal Paris' White Perfect!

    Gosh, I really hate cab drivers. If I can avoid them, I try to. This is why I went back to my parents' place (until I can find a way to get to work without having to take the cab). Getting to my work is really difficult...cab lang talaga. So annoying.

    I used to ride non-airconditioned cabs lalo na pag medyo malapit lang yung pupuntahan, mas tipid eh hehe :P Pero phased out na lahat ng non-airconditioned cabs ngayon, de aircon na talaga lahat kaya pabonggahan na ng car model pati kulay! :D

    i think not all cab drivers are d same. pero minsan tlga nkkaines cla lalo n kung nmi2li ng pasahero at lugar n pghahatiran, we should report those choosy drivers.Fare hikes? a 0.50 centavo is reasonable for jeep but a 10.00 increase isn't that too much?!

Always, when I encounter such, napapadasal ako ng thank God when I got out of the taxi :))
